London Olympics 2012: Recruiting for Canada ICT Showcase and Ottawa Reception
The countdown is on to the London 2012 Games! The 2012 Summer Olympics are taking place in London, UK from July 27 – August 12, 2012. To take advantage of this international event, OCRI (Invest Ottawa) in partnership with Ottawa Tourism, Ottawa Convention Centre, Ottawa Airport Authority and the Canadian High Commission in London is organizing a Canada ICT Showcase and Ottawa reception August 6, 2012 at Canada House in London, UK. Canada House is located on Trafalgar Square – in the middle of the Olympic action! The ICT showcase will focus on the following sectors; Digital Media/ Gaming, Security/Defense/ Public Safety, “Wireless Builds”, and technology around the Connected Vehicle.

We are recruiting key Canadian companies and key research institutions to be part of the Canada showcase. As part of your participation, Ottawa companies will receive access to meeting room space, an area to showcase your products, invitations for 5 of your key clients to attend the Ottawa reception, and assistance with targeted 1:1 meetings. Companies will be required to cover their own travel expenses, and the exhibit costs will be shared among the exhibiting companies. Opportunity to Access Funding Program
Companies participating in the Ottawa trade mission to Europe may be eligible for funding through the Ontario Export Market Access Program. This is a Global Expansion Program designed to assist small to medium size organizations (SME’s) to access and expand their growth in new foreign markets that are beyond the U.S. If your company has 5 or more employees and annual sales of $500,000 or more, you may qualify for a grant covering up to 50% of eligible cost incurred to develop export sales. Eligible activities include market research, marketing tools, direct costs associated with foreign meetings and costs to bid on foreign projects.
